Breakthrough!

In speaking of Jesus the prophet Micah declares “One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their king will pass through before them, the LORD at their head.” It doesn’t matter how impossible a situation – Jesus is able to bring breakthrough! When Jesus shed His blood on the cross He made a way for every man, woman, child, church, family and nation to live in breakthrough!
In Revelation 5 you read about a scroll that was sealed, there was no one who was able to break it open. But hallelujah for the conquering lion of the tribe of Judah! He was worthy to bring breakthrough to an impossible situation! Wherever Jesus went He brought breakthrough – to the man who had been by the pool for 38 years, to the woman who had been bent over for 18 years, to blind Bartemeus – in each instance, they had an encounter with the Son of God and recieved there breakthrough! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! He is the One who holds the keys to your breakthrough!

The deffinitation of breakthrough is “to make a sudden, quick advance, as through an obstruction!” Some of us have been praying for years – its time for a breakthrough! Some have been witnessing for years – its time for a breakthrough! Some have been sick in their bodies for years – its time for a breakthrough! Some churches have been struggling for decades – its time for a breakthrough! Some need a breakthrough in their families, some need a breakthrough in their finances! The answer is always the same – Jesus, who declared the Spirit of the Lord was upon to bring breakthrough to those that were bound in captivity!

God promises in His Word “I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.” (Is 45v2). On one occasion the Philistines closed the gates of a city so they could capture Samson. But Samson was a man with a Spirit of breakthrough on His life! The Bible says “The anointing breaks the yoke!” Samson lifted up the gates of the enemy and walked into freedom! The bible says of the church that even the gates of hell would not overcome us!

It says in 2 Samuel 23 “So the three mighty men broke through the Philistine lines, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem and carried it back to David”. These 3 mighty men broke through the ranks of the enemy! Where are the mighty men of today, filled with the fire of God, who will break through the powers of darkness and bring victory to the kingdom of God?!

2 Samuel 5 says “David attacked the Philistines and defeated them. Then he said, “I watched the LORD break through my enemies like a mighty flood.” So he named the place “The Lord Broke Through. ”

The definition of a flood is “a great overflowing of water, a great outpouring, a deluge, to overwhelm with an abundance of water!” Its time for a deluge, an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to hit our lives, churches and communities! When the Spirit comes in like a flood, then we too, like David will be able to say that we have seen God breakthrough against our enemies, as sickness, pain and bondage is washed away by the power of the presence of Jesus!
